Tuesday 2 August

Arrived at stand W2 at . Thankfully Lagunitas Censored is on and doesn't ruin my palette. Good but one for the keg, maybe.

So, how do you pronounce Lagunitas ? Lah-guh-NEET-as, Lah-GOON-ih-tas? Lah-gun-EYE-tus? (which sounds painful). Heard all three.
@beerbirrabier thinks "1st one", and so do I, or posibly:
That was my view. I'll stick to Lah-guh-Nee-tas (slight change,) until told otherwise.

Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale I've only had in cans before. On cask it comes across as an American ESB. Lovely.

Martha Exchange is new to me. The 3 headed Jurpa is a nose full of fruit salad backed with uplifting hop bite.

No Barclays spotted yet.
In response to:
any sign of the yet?

The Left Hand 400 Pound Monkey tastes of well, monkey... I suspect something wrong. The Hop Czar Imperial IPA is peppery loveliness

Over to Scotland at for Cairngorm Tradewind and Dowbrige Praetorian Porter, which is not strictly Scotland.

You here yet? America disappearing fast Ben Elk Lake IPA good, though.

Big Bro Bitter ESB smells strongly of blackberries. But has only Cluster and SK Holdings.
(This should have been "EK Goldings", as in "East Kent".)

Gag! Not paying attention ! Now by pie and peas thinking of a last third of Torpedo.
(Should have been a "Gah!" of frustration, rather than what might have seemed to be an outburst of disgust. And I was referring to Sierra Nevada's Torpedo.)

Good to meet you too! As it happens, I might have a reason to pass through Grantham.
(In response to Tim Britton of the Oldershaw Brewery in Grantham.)

Yes, that Sierra Nevada Torpedo was terrific.
In response to:

thanks for your tips on my highlight was the Sierra Nevada Torpedo. So much... everything!

Thursday 4 August
yes, 2nd day at today, relishing the cooler temperature.

So, back in the UK, Bodies's Amarilla: golden and a really refreshing Fruity whiff of Amarillo hops. Brewster's Hoped has struck match.

my second session starts with fish and chips accompanied by the band Ahab! Oh, and Mallinsons Bitter, way better than it sounds.

this de Mole Hour & Hop is quite lactic, but quite automatically lemony. Mules frites would be good.

first IPA purportedly, Titanic 9/10ths below. Bublegum estery aroma.

Going Czech on Klasterni Svaty Norbert IPA.

Over by the Thornbridge stand drinking Czech IPA at14.45.

Do I detect Sorachi Ace in the Thornbridge Raven? Black

Has to be said, has a little something, and a little something missing ;-)
(In response to @BrewDog's inquiring tweet about how we "scamps" are coping at GBBF without their presence.

Weaning the company on to US IPAd, me, I have a brilliant Il Vicino Wet mountain. Peak experience (ha ha...)

At the SIBA stand for some Millstone True Grit. That Il Vicino went down very well, but there is an end to all good things

Made some great tactical moves and now have Fullers Brewers Reserve No. 3. Oddly, for an Auchentoshan cask, it is very rummy.
To which @zatytom responded:

it's lovely, in my opinion the best Brewers Reserve yet.
Could well be. I'm really interested to try out in the bottle, because I think it will be great with a tiny bit of CO2.
